This private Mayo Munchies Tour is tailored for small groups who want to explore the region’s rich local food scene. From sheep’s yogurt and cheese farms to oyster farms, microbreweries, and organic homesteads, each tour is guided by Margaret, a local food expert with a passion for connecting visitors to the people and produce that define Mayo.

What You Will Experience

Your day may include visits to:

  • A sheep farm producing yogurt and cheeses

  • An oyster farm exploring sustainable seafood

  • A microbrewery founded by two veterinarians

  • An organic farm run by a young couple who returned from global travels

  • Museum of Country Life for a taste of Ireland’s culinary history

  • A French café using locally sourced ingredients

Each experience is tailored to your group size, interests, and the season. Margaret, your guide, will share insights from her own organic farming and foraging experience.

Itinerary

Pick Up and Drop Off

  • Pick Up: At your accommodation or agreed meeting point
  • Drop Off: Usually the same location as pick up unless agreed in advance

  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Waterproof footwear suitable for farm visits

What’s Included

  • Expert local guide for the duration of the tour
  • All entrance fees
  • All meals and tastings as outlined in your itinerary

  • Transport (can recommend local providers)

Additional Information

  • Minimum charge: €700 (equivalent to 4 guests)
  • Tours operate in most weather conditions
  • Tours do not run during Orange or Red weather warnings
  • Dietary requirements must be advised at the time of booking
  • Children are welcome and offered child-friendly drinks and tastings

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made with a minimum of 14 days’ notice before the scheduled tour date are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations made less than 14 days before the tour date are non-refundable. No-shows will be charged in full.

If the number of guests attending the tour is fewer than originally booked, no partial refund will be given unless Fable Tours is notified at least seven days in advance of the tour date.

Customers will receive a full refund if a tour is cancelled due to weather warnings.
